The University of Huddersfield is committed to preparing our students for the world of work, so much so that we won the award for the best university employability strategy at the 2021 National Graduate Recruitment Awards.

Our emphasis on setting our students apart from other graduates means that you’ll leave university with more than just a degree. You’ll gain skills to get you noticed by employers and be supported in developing a stand-out CV – just like Srosh.

From Huddersfield to the BBC

“I did a number of placements while I was at university including a couple of weeks at Leeds TV which really helped me. They allowed me to present, go out and record pieces to camera. You’re basically doing what you’re going to do in real life, and I felt that was really beneficial.

Since graduating from the University of Huddersfield, I’ve been working for the BBC, particularly BBC sport, as a reporter and producer. I get to work on the 1.00, 6.00 and 10.00 news and be part of the sporting moments that people will remember.”

94% of our undergraduate students go on to work and/or further study within fifteen months of graduating.**

**HESA Graduate Outcomes 2022/23, UK domiciled. Graduates not reporting work or study but reporting other activities such as travelling, caring, or retired are excluded.

You can study for the Global Professional Award (GPA) alongside your undergraduate degree. On completion, you’ll receive a GPA certificate from the University of Huddersfield. This award will help to set you apart from other graduates and develop valuable qualities that we know employers are looking for.*

*Available alongside all full-time, undergraduate first degrees with a minimum duration of two years. This does not include postgraduate, foundation, top-up, accelerated or apprenticeship degrees.
