Gain real world skills through EnABLE

At Huddersfield, we aim to teach our students in a multidisciplinary way, solving real world engineering problems and preparing for a career in the sector.

In your first and second year, you’ll have the opportunity to take part in our new initiative EnABLE – which stands for Engineering in an Activity Based Learning Environment. You’ll work in small teams with students from across our engineering degree programmes, solving real-world engineering challenges and developing skills relevant to industry.

Find out a little bit more about EnABLE from some of those who teach, study or work in the engineering field.

Preparing you for your future career

At Huddersfield, we place a great deal of importance on industry experience. You’ll find all our 3-4 year Bachelor’s level courses or our 4-5 year Master’s level courses give you the option to undertake a year-long placement in your third year.

Our Engineering students benefit from support from a dedicated Placement Unit, which is on hand to guide you through the application process and throughout your placement year.

Many of our Electronic and Electrical Engineering courses are also accredited by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), so if you’re hoping to register as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or a Chartered Engineering (CEng) in the future, your degree studies could help you on your way.
