International arrivals to the UK

This page is for international students who are currently planning their move to the UK to study with us. You'll find useful advice, including when to arrive in the UK, finding accommodation, and how to find our campus from your destination airport or train station.

You must secure student accommodation before you travel

You must have secured student accommodation less than one hour from campus and be able to provide proof of this at the airport.

We also require proof of your UK-based accommodation as part of your enrolment process.

When to arrive in Huddersfield

You must arrive at our Huddersfield campus in line with the below timelines so that you can begin enrolment in a timely manner.

Queries about your arrival date?

If you have any queries or concerns about the above arrival dates for your course, please contact our team who will be able to help.

What you need to do before you travel to the UK

You will need to get prepared to travel to the UK by applying for your visa, booking your student accommodation and gathering relevant documentation to show at the airport. We recommend starting your preparations well in advance of your arrival deadline to avoid any delays with your enrolment.

Apply for your student visa

  1. Once you receive your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), you need to apply for your Student Visa.
  2. Book your appointment at the Visa Application Centre. You will be automatically directed to do this following your application on the GOV.UK website.
  3. The Home Office may interview students as part of their visa application, so follow any necessary steps if you are requested for an interview.
  4. When your visa has been granted, you must create a UKVI account to apply for a share code and travel to the UK within 90 days.
