How long does a work placement last?

Students will work full-time for a year, inclusive of annual leave. Some flexibility can be applied to this timeframe.

What type of job role should be provided?

Students must undertake a job with appropriate responsibility with work that is of a suitable level for a university student.

How much does it cost?

Huddersfield Business School only advertises paid placements and recommends that students be paid at least national minimum wage, though many placements pay much more than that.

What is required from employers?

We ask that employers complete 2 appraisals during the placement and participate in a visit from a university staff member to discuss the student's progress.

When does a placement start?

Students typically start their placements between August and mid-September.

"Placement students bring new ideas! We look to hire people who are inquisitive and able to challenge our usual ways of working.
