The University of Huddersfield is committed to inspiring tomorrow's professionals. Its links with employers mean that it is consistently one of the country's top fifteen universities for work placements.

  • The University's service is highly innovative and has won three Awards for Excellence from the Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services.
  • The University has launched a pioneering partnership with the lending organisation Funding Circle, which channels investment directly to small and emerging business. Interest earned from these loans is used to provide bursaries for students from poorer backgrounds so that they can join the University’s pioneering Enterprise Development degree course, during which they start and run their own businesses.‌
  • Not only is the University the third largest employer in its district, contributing an estimated £300 million pounds annually to the local economy, it has also taken an active role in many projects designed to boost local employment, such as the Kirklees 'Future Jobs' scheme.
  • The University is a major centre for the study of logistics and supply chain management and is now home to a pioneering scheme known as the Novus Trust, which has the participation of 24 major companies in fields such as retail and manufacturing. Specifically intended to address a serious skills gap in UK industry, it will sponsor students who take degree courses in logistics and guarantee them employment when they successfully graduate.
  • Work experience and placement years are standard features of undergraduate courses. The University's dedicated Placement Units are multi-award winners.
