The Huddersfield Business School (SBEL) has signed a significant collaboration agreement with the University of Economics in Ho Chi Minh City (UEH) in Vietnam.

A delegation led by Professor Monty Adkins (Pro Vice-Chancellor Research and Innovation) and Professor Abhijit Sharma  (Director of Strategic Partnerships for SBEL) met with their counterparts Professor Dr Dinh Cong Khai, Vice President of UEH, and Professor Vo Xuan Vinh, Dean of the Institute of Business Research, UEH and other senior faculty staff.

The agreement will facilitate research between academics from both institutions, a joint PhD program as well as other opportunities that will lead to long-term collaborative academic exchange.

Professor Vo Xuan Vinh said, "The partnership in the PhD program marks a major step in the collaboration between the University of Huddersfield and UEH.

“The joint PhD program in business and management, in which PhD students can be supervised by a team including academic staff from both universities, helps enhance the collaboration in academic and research between the two institutions. I thank Professor Monty Adkins, Professor Abhijit Sharma, and the University of Huddersfield's management for their tremendous support in making this happen.”

In response Professor Adkins stated that this was, “A partnership that will foster excellence, drive innovative research, and will become a cornerstone of the Business School’s international research agenda.”

Professor Abhijit Sharma added that, “Our research partnership with UEH is a very promising and exciting development for the University of Huddersfield. We are confident that working closely with Professors Vo and Dinh will enhance this collaboration further into other areas of academic co-operation and impactful joint research activity between the two institutions."
