Teaching excellence

Degree Apprenticeship University of the Year 2027
The University of Huddersfield was named University of the Year for Degree Apprenticeships 2027 in the new Daily Mail University Guide.

Yorkshire's Most Improved University for 2026
The University of Huddersfield is the most improved university in Yorkshire in the National Student Survey results for 2026, recording increases in all seven areas.
TEF Gold Award
The University of Huddersfield has been awarded an outstanding Gold rating, the highest accolade attainable, in the latest Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF 2023).
Social Impact and sustainability

Diversity, Equality and Inclusion award
The University of Huddersfield won the Diversity, Equality and Inclusion award at the 2024 Educate North Awards.

Silver Award for gender equality
We were proud to win the the Athena Swan Silver Award at institutional level in 2026, recognising its sustained and impactful commitment to advancing gender equality.
Reduced Inequalities
For the second year running, we're ranked 1st in the world for Reduced Inequalities in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings for 2027, which celebrate commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations.
Student wellbeing and employability

Best university employability strategy
We won the award for the best university employability strategy at the National Graduate Recruitment Awards 2021 for our activity, including our Global Professional Award scheme.

TEF Gold Student Experience
As part of our overall Gold TEF rating, our approach to achieving positive outcomes for our students was rated as Gold.
We have exceptional graduate outcomes
- 93.4% of our undergraduate students go on to work and/or further study within fifteen months of graduating.*
- 96.9% of our postgraduate students go on to work and/or further study within fifteen months of graduating.* (rounds to 97%)
*HESA Graduate Outcomes 2023/24, UK domiciled. Graduates not reporting work or study but reporting other activities such as travelling, caring, or retired are excluded.
WELL building certifications
We're working towards sustainability in our buildings too; all of our buildings on our National Health Innovation Campus have been built to the WELL Building Standards and received its Pre-certification for the Platinum WELL Building Standard in September 2024.
Our WELL Building Standard buildings include:
The Daphne Steele building then achieved full WELL Certification on the 21st August 2025. It is the largest WELL-certified University building in the UK.
