Tuition fees

The University offers competitive fees as well as payment options and discounts.

An economical place to live

Huddersfield is also an affordable place to live, with living costs relatively lower than other parts of the UK and therefore making your University experience excellent value for money.  Bachelor students will need approximately only £4,200 for nine months of study and Master's students will need approximately only £5,500 for 12 months.

Fixed fees for the duration of your course

Some Universities in the UK may put tuition fee prices up every year which will have an impact on your budget. Particularly if you are on a degree programme that is longer than one year. At Huddersfield the tuition fees are guaranteed to not increase for the entire duration of your course, as long as there is no break in your studies and you are studying a full-time course. The only exception to this is the LLB distance learning programme, where fees increase slightly every year.

What's included in your tuition fee?

To find out what is included, visit our dedicated fees and finance page that explains everything.

Early payment discount

We offer £500 discount to every self-funded international student on a full-time taught degree who pays their full tuition fees in full before 31 July for students starting in September and by 30 November from students studying in January.  This fee discount will be applied after any Scholarship has been deducted and is only offered for the first year of study only and does not include any placement year.

Flexible payment options

The University requires a deposit of 50% of tuition fees in order for students to confirm their place on a degree programme. However, the balance can then be paid in two easy instalments:

Deposit of 50% to confirm place 50% of remaining balance Final balance due
Degree programmes in September Before arrival (prior to issuing visa documentation) On enrolment in September January
Degree programmes in January Before arrival (prior to issuing visa documentation) On enrolment in January March

For example a student coming to study on a course which cost £10,000 and started in September could pay:

  • £5,000 to secure their place prior to coming to the UK
  • £2,500 on enrolment in September
