Mini Moss Terrariums

Join us to build a tiny little self-contained garden to keep on your desk or windowsill. The drainage base will be laid, then a layer of soil, followed by the moss and plants.

All materials and tools will be provided.

Apple Day!

'Apple Day’ is a celebration of all things apple!

There will be tastings of the University's apples grown on our on campus orchard, an apple bird feeder making workshop (using apples, apple sticks and sunflower seeds) and the RSPB will be hosting an information stall and the opportunity to become a member of the RSPB.

There are 10 x apple trees to be planted on campus to expand our orchard. All tools and equipment will be provided. 

If you would like to join us for the planting then please wear warm outdoor clothing and flat sensible shoes.

Location: Meet at Student Central Building (by the Students Union Shop)

Book a place for the apple bird feeder workshop.

Join us for a special upcycling session where we will be transforming your old, odd (clean please!) sock into a seasonal pumpkin decoration.

All tools and materials will be provided.

Please just bring your own odd sock to be transformed into a pumpkin!

Time: 11AM-3PM. Please note it will take around 30 minutes to make a pumpkin.

Festive Mini Moss Terrariums

Join us to build a tiny little self-contained garden using recycled materials to keep on your desk or windowsill, or gift it to someone special. The drainage base will be laid, then a layer of soil, followed by the plants, moss and decorations.

All materials and tools will be provided.

Date: Thursday 4th December

Time: 12PM-2PM. Please book a space and then drop in over this time period. The terrarium will take around 20 minutes to make.

Join us for some festive fun and gift something for wildlife this winter by creating a Christmas bird feeder wreath, you can hang in your outdoor space. Christmas music and mince pies will be provided, Christmas jumpers are optional but encouraged!

There will be a variety of wreaths you can make depending on how much time you have to spare.

The RSPB will also be in attendance at the event where you can find out information about our local birds, how to join the RSPB and how to volunteer with them.

All equipment will be provided. Please bring a large bag with you to take your wreath home in.

Get into the festive spirit and use your creativity to make a unusual, sustainable, Christmas decoration that makes a thoughtful gift. We are going to be making mini desktop sized Christmas trees by recycling old prospectuses. 

All equipment and tools, mince pies and Christmas music will be provided. Christmas jumpers are optional but encouraged! Please bring a bag with you to take your tree home in.
