Second and final year students perform original songs and covers from a variety of genres including blues, funk, prog and reggae.

Lauren Kinsella is an Irish vocalist based in London. Known as having ‘embraced an entirely new conception of vocal improvisation, touching on various ethnic traditions but also connected to the avant garde’ (The History of European Jazz 2018), she is joined by saxophonist Tom Challenger and drummer Dave Smith, two of the UK’s most prolific and creative artists. The trio will perform new music including Radicle which premiered at The London Jazz Festival in 2018 at Kings Place. Her work which focuses on several themes including human connectivity, conservation and the complexity of nature are explored through group interplay and original composition.
David Pipe, newly-appointed Head of Organ at the University of Huddersfield, gives a recital on the Wood organ of St Paul’s Hall, including works by J. S. Bach, Jean Guillou and Alexandre Guilmant.
