The Feel Good Gardening Gang

For all green fingered staff and students…the Sustainability team has blooming good news! 

You may or may not know that the University has a MS Team called the ‘Feel Good Gardening Gang’, especially for those with an interest in gardening.

All staff and students can join the team, and also apply for one of the many planters that we have designated around campus, at the three different allotment spaces.

Access to gardening tools is provided and the planters can be used to grow plants, flowers, fruit and vegetables. Please see more information about this and how to apply for a planter on the Allotment web page.

The group meets up over the spring and summer months when a schedule of monthly events are held.

Events Schedule

5 June: Plant Swap - bring your plants, flowers or seeds to swap

3 July: Potato Planting Party - come and plant potatoes in recycled containers

8 August: Picnic at the Planters - bring you lunch and we will bring the cake!

25 September: Recycled Mushroom Buckets - grow your own mushrooms using our coffee grains. 

All events are held down at the Woodland Walk planters (opposite the Lockside Building) and run from 12.00PM - 2.00PM. 

There is no need to book for the events you can just drop by on your lunch break to say hello and get involved. These events are open to all staff and students.

First event

The first event will be the ‘Plant Swap’ on Wednesday 5th of June. Please bring any plants, flowers or seeds which you may want to swap and join us down at the planters for a chat and some refreshments.
