This will be Professor Anchor’s second three-year term as Chair and will run until December 2028.

After 37 years’ service to the University of Huddersfield, he was appointed Emeritus Professor in 2024. His previous posts include as Associate Dean (International), Head of Department, Principal Lecturer, Senior Lecturer and Lecturer in the Huddersfield Business School.

He also worked with the International Office to recruit international students to the Business School and oversaw the academic and social experience of those students in Huddersfield. He has undertaken many international research and education projects.

The professor has received a total of ten awards in recognition of his role in developing research and education partnerships in Central and Eastern Europe.

He commented: “I am delighted to have been reappointed to chair the International Advisory Board at the University of Hradec Králové. UHK has a strong international orientation, and this fits very well with my interests and experience.  It is a privilege to be able to provide advice to the University’s management on its strategic direction.”

The International Advisory Board is a five-member advisory body to the Rector of UHK, with a role that includes supporting the strategic direction of the University and fulfilment of its strategic goals as well as evaluating the quality of educational activities, the scientific and research development and the internationalisation of the University.

Prior to his appointment as Chair in 2023, Professor Anchor was a member of an experimental International Advisory Commission for a period of two years.
