The SURGE (Sustainability, Responsibility, Governance and Ethics) Research Centre at Huddersfield Business School was delighted to host Professor Scott McCabe, Head of the Department of Marketing at Birmingham Business School, for an inspiring seminar titled “Publishing in Top Quality Journals: Views of an Editor.”
As Co-Editor of Annals of Tourism Research (ABS 4, IF = 7.8), Prof. McCabe offered valuable insights into the editorial process and key criteria for publishing in leading academic journals. The session attracted a strong turnout of academics, early career researchers, and postgraduate researchers, who benefited from his extensive experience in academic publishing, wellbeing, and sustainable consumption research.
This seminar forms part of SURGE’s World Distinguished Scholar Seminar Series and marks one of 11 research activities the centre has hosted in the past 12 months. These include internal grant application workshops, paper writing clinics, and global-facing events connecting Huddersfield Business School with internationally renowned scholars and audiences. Dr. Jialin (Snow) Wu, Director of the SURGE Research Centre, expressed appreciation to Prof. McCabe and participants, highlighting SURGE’s ongoing commitment to promoting research excellence and fostering a vibrant, globally connected research community.
