The University of Huddersfield’s Law School has celebrated the exceptional achievements of its students at a special prize-giving ceremony, held on Friday 18th July 2025 as part of the wider graduation celebrations.

The event brought together students, their families, friends, academic staff and local legal professionals for an afternoon of celebration and recognition of outstanding academic success. It was a chance to shine a spotlight on students who have gone above and beyond in their studies – many achieving the highest marks in their subjects or year groups.

The student achievement awards ceremony allows us to recognise the achievements of the very best of the best of our law students across all four years of our degree courses. The links we have with the local legal profession means that the majority of our prizes are sponsored by local law firms. Many of those presenting prizes from local law firms are our graduates.

Prizes

Prizes were awarded across a range of areas including Business Law, Family Law, Employment Law and Advocacy. Special recognition went to Sophie Spowage-Hill, who received the Exceptional Contribution to the Law School Community Award, for her dedication and impact within the school.

Celebrating partnerships

The event also recognised the continued support of local law firms and partners who sponsor the awards, helping to champion the next generation of legal professionals.

One of this year’s award sponsors, Stowe Family Law, shared why they continue to support the Law School:

“We’re proud to award the Stowe Prize to a University of Huddersfield student this year. Supporting the next generation of legal professionals is something we care deeply about at Stowe Family Law. The winner has shown real legal skill, and we’re pleased to offer them recognition.”
