Students' Union Elections

Students' Union Elections

Tuesday 5 and Wednesday 6 March

The Students’ Union elections are taking place next week, you may have already seen posters up around campus as the candidates start campaigning. We would be really grateful if you and your staff could support us next week, encouraging students to have their say.

The Officers have a big impact on the way the University works. An officer sits on every School Board and Teaching and Learning Committee, as well as senior University committees including Senate and University Council. They represent the view of students across all services, and sit on University disciplinary hearings. The 5 officers work with 5 external and 2 student trustees to form the Board of Trustees for the Students’ Union, as well as making speeches at the University Graduation Ceremonies. We want to make sure that as many students as possible are choosing who their representatives will be.

Students can either vote at the SU voting stations, and online, and voting is open 5 and 6 March 8.00am–8.00pm.

We will be in the following locations:

Tuesday 5 March:

Wednesday 6 March:

Students can also vote on their own tablet, smartphone, laptop, or home PC – all votes are on Elections.

Below is a PowerPoint slide that can be used in presentations. We would love it if staff could encourage students to vote online at the end of their lectures or seminars next week.

Thanks in advance for any support you can offer.
