The ever-popular Live at the University of Huddersfield concert series is back again for 2018-19 – and it’s free for all students!

The School of Music, Humanities and Media will play host to a huge variety of acts from all over the world, including the Indo-Jazz fusion group ‘The Bollywood Jazz Project’ (18 October) and internationally-acclaimed dramatic soprano, Rachel Nicholls (1 November).

No genre is off limits, as psychedelic noise-rock band Gnod R&D will perform at the University as part of the series (14 February) while new and experimental music fans will enjoy listening to the likes of avant-garde pianist Ian Pace (28 February), and virtuoso guitarist Diego Castro Magas (25 March).

As well as international acts, the series will showcase some home-grown talent. The University’s hugely popular Brass Band takes to the stage on 6 December, while the Performance Making Drama Festival runs from 3-7 December, giving audiences the chance to catch the stars of tomorrow in action as Huddersfield drama students stage a variety of shows.

And the best part? It’s free to all students. Plenty of performances take place at lunchtime, why not try something new between lectures?
