Our Criminology and Policing courses at Huddersfield combine practical, theoretical, and analytical skills while preparing you for a career in or beyond the criminal justice system. You'll investigate everything from violent and organised crime to justice and policing practices in the UK and overseas.
Our courses include a 30-hour compulsory work placement to apply your skills in a real-world setting. You’ll be taught by expert researchers and hear from guest speakers including senior police officers and justice professionals, giving you real-world insight and career-ready skills. Our graduates go on to work with the police, probation service, Home Office, and more.
We also offer a Foundation Degree for those who need extra preparation before starting an undergraduate course.
Our facilities
You'll benefit from hands-on learning in our specialist facilities, including purpose-built forensic science labs, realistic crime scene setups, and an on-site mock courtroom for simulated trials. You'll also explore crime prevention using virtual reality technology, giving you practical experience that mirrors real-world scenarios.
