The University of Huddersfield partners with the Global College of Technology in Nepal as part of our Transnational Education (TNE) partnerships, validating courses within the specialism of Computing, including Information Technology and Computer Science.

Course opportunities

  • BSc (Hons) in Information Technology
  • BSc (Hons) in Computer Science
  • BSc (Hons) in Computer Science with Artificial Intelligence
  • BSc (Hons) in Computer Science with Cyber Security

Students have the opportunity to complete these courses following four years of full-time study.

Information Technology BSc(Hons)

This course aims to produce graduates who are information systems professionals. The course will equip students with the knowledge, skills and attitudes to enable them to develop careers that centre upon helping organisations to specify, design, implement, operate, and exploit information systems. Global College of Technology students will:

  • develop the ‘human systems’ knowledge, skills and attitude necessary to allow them to understand how to integrate information systems technologies successfully into host organisations
  • develop the personal, critical, and professional skills to enable them to develop successful careers and to continue their professional development after graduating
  • be prepared for careers in roles such as IT Consultant, Software Developer, Business Analyst, IT Project Manager, and Systems Administrator, with opportunities across multiple sectors.

Computer Science BSc(Hons) courses

The Computer Science BSc (Hons) course aims to produce graduate with strong theoretical and practical understanding of intelligent and securing computer systems. The 'with Artificial Intelligence' stream addresses the growing importance of Artificial Intelligence as a key driver of the fourth industrial revolution and the 'with Cyber Security' stream addresses the increasing needs for security expertise due to the rising value of data and prevalence of cyber-crime. Global College students will:

  • develop technical knowledge and design skills in intelligent systems, including knowledge-based and data-driven Artificial Intelligence techniques. Systems Designers, and Automation Specialists, as Cybersecurity Analysts, Penetration Testers, Forensic Investigators, and Network Security Engineers, or Information Security Officers across sectors
  • be equipped with the knowledge and skills required for careers in secure computing and software engineering, with a strong emphasis on cyber security
  • be able to apply core computer science principles alongside specialised expertise in Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security to solve real-world problems
  • develop critical, analytical and professional skills to adapt to the rapidly evolving nature of modern computing and security challenges.
