Lunch Time Litter picking sessions on Campus

Join the Sustainability Team for our special spooktacular Halloween themed Lunch time litter pick!

We will be heading down to the beautiful canal side that runs through our campus and giving the area a good tidy up by picking up litter along the towpath, all whilst listening to some Halloween themed music.

Afterwards we will have some well-deserved Halloween themed refreshments together.

Why take part?

You will be making a positive impact on the environment by keeping it clean and green. It helps to conserve the area for the wildlife that thrives in this habitat and protects nature from the effects of plastic pollution. You will get to meet new people from the University and join our sustainability community to become a Sustainability Champion!

Please dress weather appropriately for working outdoors with lots of layers and sturdy shoes. If you would like to come in fancy dress then this is encouraged, we will be providing ‘monster masks’ too if anyone want to get into the Halloween spirit!

All materials needed for the litter pick (gloves, picks, bags, hand sanitizer etc) will be provided.

Date: Wednesday 22nd October 2026

Time: 12.30PM-14.00PM

Location: Meet at the Ipoint, in Level 4, Student Central. We will then head down to the canal side to start the litter pick.

Winter Wildlife Lunch time litter pick

Join the Sustainability Team for our special Winter Wildlife Lunch time litter pick!

We will be heading down to the beautiful woodland walk that runs along the canal and giving the area a good tidy up by picking up litter. We will then provide some food for birds and animals to forage to help them when natural food sources are scarce in the winter months.

Afterwards we will have some well-deserved, coffee and cake in Student Central.

Why take part?

• You will be making a positive impact on the environment by keeping it clean and green. It helps to conserve the area for the wildlife that thrives in this habitat and protects nature from the effects of plastic pollution.
• Caring for our wildlife on campus by providing food for the animals in the woodland such as fruit, seeds and nuts provides them with the energy to survive the lower temperatures.
• You will get to meet new people from the University and join our sustainability community to become a Sustainability Champion!
