Partnering with the University of Huddersfield is a practical and rewarding way to support the next generation of teachers while adding real value to your school.

How will you benefit through partnering with us?

As a partner, you will benefit from:

  • an enthusiastic trainee teacher who contributes as an additional resource, bringing fresh ideas, subject knowledge and energy into your setting
  • financial reimbursement in recognition of your role in teacher training
  • opportunities for mentor development, supporting both new and experienced colleagues to build coaching and leadership skills
  • access to educational research and evidence-based practice, helping you stay at the forefront of teaching and learning
  • formal recognition as a partner school, including digital branding assets and a partnership plaque
  • a strengthened recruitment pipeline, giving you early access to future teaching talent.

Professional development opportunities

We support not only our trainees, but the ongoing development of your staff.

Our experienced academics deliver bespoke CPD sessions tailored to your school’s priorities, including around the following topics.

  • Neurodivergent learners
  • Anti-racist education

What's involved in being a partner school?

We work flexibly with our partner schools to ensure placements are straightforward, well-supported and fit around your setting.

Typically, this includes:

  • hosting a trainee teacher for agreed placement periods
  • providing day-to-day support within your department or classroom
  • assigning a mentor, who will guide the trainee and support their development
  • offering feedback aligned to clear training expectations.
