Geographers not only help us to understand the physical world we inhabit, and the social structures we have developed to occupy specific spaces, they also make a valuable contribution to solving many of the problems facing society today.
Geography graduates can consider careers in central and local government, education, environmental consultancies, Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or commercial sectors. In roles such as cartographer, data analyst, environmental management and consultancy, planner, policy advisor, quality management and researcher.
Environmental and analytical science graduates typically progress into careers such as environmental sampling and trace analysis, environmental chemistry, environmental monitoring, environmental impact officer, GIS analyst, policy advisor, land surveying, DEFRA, management, data analysis, biodiversity officer and planning ecologist.
Our Geography BSc(Hons), Human Geography BSc(Hons) and Physical Geography BSc(Hons) courses are accredited by the Royal Geographical Society and offer you eligibility for membership.
Our Environmental and Analytical Science BSc(Hons) degree is accredited by the Committee of Heads of Environmental Sciences (CHES), the education committee of the Institution of Environmental Sciences (IES).
