Studies to suit you

Whether you're looking to continue on from undergraduate level studies or build up specialist knowledge and new skills, we offer a whole range of postgraduate programmes to ensure you achieve your goals.

Campus-based courses

Located at our Queensgate campus

Our postgraduate courses are based at our Queensgate campus in the heart of Huddersfield, and may include traditional lectures, seminars, discussion groups, projects and more. We also use technology and media to bring you the most up-to-date learning resources.

Part-time

Achieve success whilst juggling commitments

Most of our taught postgraduate degrees and all of our research degrees can be studied full-time or part-time and some courses offer distance learning. You can also consider undertaking a Postgraduate Certificate or Diploma; these qualifications are steps toward a Master’s degree, are internationally recognised and can be built upon in the future.

Flexibility

Multiple start dates

Most of our courses start in September, but many of our postgraduate options are also available with a January or April start date, offering you the opportunity to continue your studies at a time that suits you.

Blended Learning

A mix of on-campus taught sessions and online learning

Some of our postgraduate courses are offered as blended learning which combines elements of on-campus taught sessions with digital and online learning tools, giving you the freedom to study around your own commitments and with more flexibility.

Degree apprenticeships

An alternative route to a Master's level qualification

Degree apprenticeships provide an alternative route to a Master's level qualification, enabling your employees to combine work with study for a university qualification. Apprenticeships can contribute to the skills and development of both new and existing employees. Learners spend part of their time at the university and the rest at your organisation hence benefitting from on-the-job training enhanced by their university education.

CATS and combining subjects

Credit Attribution and Transfer Scheme

CATS offer study for students who are in paid employment, are unemployed or may be caring for children and relatives. Credits are awarded for each module successfully completed, which means you can work towards postgraduate qualifications in a way that suits your needs. You can study associated subjects of your choice, combine subjects across disciplines and transfer across to different types of awards, You can also transfer from full-time to part-time study or vice versa and if your studies are interrupted, credits can be retained for later use (within a six-year period from the start of study).

Individual Modules and CPD

Continuing Professional Development

Some of our postgraduate taught modules can be studied individually, making them an ideal source of specialist knowledge. If you're assessed for a single module, you can receive a Certificate in Continuing Professional Development, which can be 'cashed-in' later as part of a Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma or Master's degree.
