Dr Kate Smith delivers refugee lecture on 'Narratives of Vulnerability'

Dr Kate Smith delivers keynote lecture, 'Rethinking stories about the figure of the refugee'

Dr Kate Smith was invited to UCL to deliver a keynote lecture as part of their ‘Vulnerability' series where she discusses the ways ‘vulnerability’ is operationalised in asylum policy to increasingly highlight distinctions between people who deserve protection and those who do not. She also offers insight into some of the ways in which asylum policies create the conditions where vulnerabilities are generated and produced.  You can listen to the full lecture including the questions and answers in the video below.
