EVENT: Community, Voice and Representation through Film

Talk and screening: Community, Voice and Representation through Film

Culture of Film is pleased to welcome Dr Milton Brown, Director of KLTV, about filmmaking, on Thursday 23 April at 1pm in the Bath House Gallery for a talk on representation and community voice in Kirklees. Through reflections on practice, film screenings and an open discussion with audiences, this session will consider how local media can foreground lived experience, support participation and stimulate more inclusive ways of storytelling.

The evet will look at the intricacies of filmmaking with communities, which perspectives are given space on screen, and how film can contribute to dialogue, visibility and cultural agency.

Open to anyone with an interest in film, community media, oral history and local storytelling.
