Huddersfield Train Station Closure

As you may be aware there is a 30-day closure of Huddersfield train station, taking place from Saturday 30 August to Sunday 28 September 2025, as part of the TransPennine Route Upgrade (TRU) project.

During this period, train services to and from Huddersfield will be significantly disrupted, with impacts on routes to Manchester, Leeds, York, and Sheffield. Services will be diverted via the Calder Valley, and rail replacement buses will operate locally, particularly between Huddersfield and Brighouse. Local stations including Deighton will also be closed.

Staff are expected to continue working in line with their agreed hybrid working arrangements throughout this period. The University recommends that colleagues check travel plans in advance at www.nationalrail.co.uk or consult their train operator’s website for the latest information. Further details on the TRU programme and the Huddersfield station project are available at https://thetrupgrade.co.uk/yourstation/Huddersfield/

Students and applicants have been informed and are expected to attend.
