Registry has a new name!
What’s changing?
Following the recent restructure of professional service staff at the University, we’re changing our service’s name to Registry and Academic Development.
Why?
The transformational change programme in 2024 brought together a wide range of colleagues formerly based in schools with colleagues previously based in Registry. The directorate more than doubled in size in terms of staff numbers and now encompasses a much wider range of functions and professional skills. Feedback from staff suggested that the name was important to people, and they did not feel the current name was sufficient to reflect the breadth of activity across the team.
What is covered by the new service?
- Quality assurance, course and module validations, course set up and publication, accreditation/PSRBs and collaborative partnerships.
- Course administration, exams, graduation, certificates, student regulations and casework.
- The strategic development and administrative support of apprenticeships.
- Academic skills provision for students.
- Support for staff in using learning technology, and the monitoring and development of systems, including Brightspace.
- Strategic teaching and learning projects including TEF submission, differential attainment, and the institutional response to GenAI.
