28 January - Data Protection Day!
To celebrate the Data Protection awareness day, we will be live this week to answer any of your queries. The University’s Information Governance Manager will be live via Teams from 10.00 to 11.00, this week (28 to 31 January) to help you with any data protection related queries. It’s a good opportunity to remind colleagues about importance of data protection and how this influences our lives and our day-to-day work.

To raise awareness of how you can manage and protect personal data, we have a range of support mechanism and services from the Data Protection team.
- If you have a project that involves personal data, speak to your Data Protection Champion for advice before you start the project. You have dedicated Data Protection Champion(s) for your School / Service who can support you with your data protection related queries. - Look through the Data Protection Hub that holds a number of practical guidance and information on general topics of interests and Data Protection terminology. Data Protection
- Have a read through the News Section on the Data Protection Hub that publishes the most recent news about data protection, and how it affects us.
- Use our standard templates to write a fair processing notice, or a consent form.
- Use our step by step guidance for drafting a personal data sharing agreement using our template.
- Use the practical checklist for your research projects that involve processing personal data, to ensure your research /project is compliance with the data protection law.
- Use the guidance and checklist for holding a conference.
