Introduction to the Student Engagement Team

 

The Student Engagement Team offer students support with many issues for example, guidance on university regulations, individual circumstances and support to overcome any barriers to attendance or engagement. Our coaches will actively listen to the student’s situation, guide them to relevant information, ensure their understanding and support them to identify any next steps needed. Where necessary the coach will efficiently signpost to other professionals for continued support.

 

If staff members has a question or wants to refer a student to us we can be contacted by email; justask@hud.ac.uk or if appropriate and with the students consent, staff members can book the student an appointment directly with one of our coaches.

 

The team also implement the attendance policy at the university and will meet with students in a formal meeting when they fall below agreed thresholds. All issues relating to attendance should be directed to contactattendance@hud.ac.uk although, any student worried about their attendance can book an informal attendance appointment with the team, at any time during their studies and receive support to improve their attendance.
