This April, the focus is on physical wellbeing and the Staff Wellbeing Team invite you to explore the fundamental pillars that play a role in nurturing our bodies: Movement, Nutrition, Hydration and Sleep. In a world filled with bustling schedules and constant distractions, it's easy to overlook the importance of these basic yet essential aspects of self-care. However, by prioritizing and understanding their significance, we can unlock a wealth of benefits that extend far beyond physical health alone.

Monday 22 April
How to have a better nights sleep and re-charge your rest | Monday 22 April | 10:00 - 12:30
Join People and Organisational Development (POD) for this course which does exactly what it says on the tin! It focuses on the importance of sleep and rest for wellbeing and performance. It provides a range of practical tools, based on current research, to help participants to have a better night’s sleep.
Wellbeing Yoga | Monday 22 April | 12:15 - 13:00 | Jo Cox Centre Community Hall
Come join in this Hatha Yoga session. Hatha is considered a gentle yoga that focuses on static poses and is great for beginners. However, even though it is gentle, it can still be physically and mentally challenging.

Nutrition Session - Are we getting our portions sizes right? | Wednesday 24 April | 12:00 - 12:40
It is estimated that we eat a third more calories than we think we do due to under reporting of portion size. But have we got our portions sizes right? An interactive, in person session with Dr Deborah Pufal looking at our perceptions of what is a realistic portion size compared to what is stated as a portion on a label. Can how much we eat be influenced by the size of our plates, bowls and glass sizes?
Wellbeing Thai Chi | Wed 24 April | 17:15 - 18:15 | Jo Cox Centre Community Hall
Tai Chi is a Chinese martial art that offers a balanced combination of soft (meditation, breathing, and testing energy) and hard (“Fali”- release energy). The exercises are tailored to suit people of all ages and abilities to attain the two core aspects of Taiji - Health & Defence.
