Queensgate Maintenance Scheme – disruption from 21 July to 25 August
Kirklees Council will be carrying out maintenance work over the Summer, which will result in some disruption around the University. Please find further details below, as this work could impact on your journey to and from the University and any deliveries to the University.
Phase One – 21 to 28 July:
The first phase includes carriageway resurfacing and kerbing works at Shorehead roundabout. The roundabout will be closed on Sundays 4.30pm to midnight (when the roundabout is closed this will mean that both sides of Queensgate and Southgate will also be closed). There will be lane closures Monday to Thursday from 8.00am to midnight.
Phase Two – 29 July to 6 August:
The second phase includes the central reserve reconstruction and kerbing works on Queensgate from Shorehead to Queen Street South with lane 2 closures on both sides of Queensgate from 8.00am to midnight.
Phase Three – 7 August to 25 August:
The third phase will include carriageway resurfacing, kerbing and pedestrian crossing upgrading. This will take place on Queensgate on the anti-clockwise side. The road will be closed from Chapel Hill to Shorehead roundabout.
Phase Four – 27 August to 12 September
The fourth phase will include carriageway resurfacing, kerbing and pedestrian crossing upgrading. This will take place on Queensgate on the clockwise side. The road from Shorehead roundabout to Chapel will be closed.
