To celebrate International Women’s Day 2024, The University of Huddersfield invites you to join our panel discussion on Career Pathways – What I know now! We are bringing together a panel of women staff from across the University to discuss their career history, influences and share lessons learned along the way.
We are hoping that this event will help others ‘to be what they see’ and have the opportunity to learn from others. The event will be opened by Professor Georgina Blakeley, Acting Dean and Associate Dean of Teaching and Learning of the School of Human and Health Sciences.
The panel will include:
Leigh Fleming - Acting Head of Department of Engineering and Technology
Lisa Russell - Professor in Education and Employment
Snow Wu - Reader in Sustainable and Digitalised Service Economy

Human Library
Tuesday 12th March, 11am - 1pm, Community Hall - Jo Cox Centre (JCG/05)
At a Human Library, attendees can borrow a ‘Living Book’ to have an open, honest and respectful conversation with someone who is willing to share their story – for example, discrimination they have faced because of their lifestyle. Attending the session will give attendees an insight into the life experiences of others, challenging stigmas and stereotypes through dialogue and personal conversations.
Human Libraries have been held in a number of HE establishments over the last few years. More information about Human Libraries is available on the Human Library Organisation website.
The event will be split into three readings and timings will be released shortly – you can attend for as long or as little as you like, so please feel free to sign up even if you are only available to attend some of the event!
