As the Christmas break approaches, we want to remind all staff about the support and resources available to help you maintain your wellbeing during this time. Below, you’ll find information on services and contacts to reach out to, should you need them.
Staff Wellbeing Confidential Support Service
All staff have access to the Staff Wellbeing Confidential Support
- This service offers FREE and completely confidential support to all staff member on a wide range of wellbeing issues such as anxiety, stress, bereavement, family difficulties and financial concerns.
- Speak in confidence to fully qualified counsellors and support specialists 24/7, 365 days a year to discuss any emotional, personal or work-related issues.
- Talking to an experienced counsellor or psychotherapist can help you understand a problem, make a tough decision, try a different approach or just learn how to cope with a difficult situation.
When you call, an initial assessment will be completed with you to help guide you to the most appropriate support.

Urgent Support
If you require urgent medical assistance, go to your nearest Accident and Emergency service. You can locate your closest A&E department here.
If you need help for a mental health crisis or emergency, you should get immediate expert advice and assessment. Visit Urgent Help for Mental Health - NHS for further advice and information.
Mental Health Support by Text Message
You can text "SHOUT" to 85258 for free from all major UK mobile networks. You'll then be connected to a volunteer for an anonymous conversation by text message. This free, confidential, 24/7 text messaging mental health support service is run by a charity called Mental Health Innovations.
Samaritans
The Samaritans is a 24 hour, 365 days a year service available for support. The Samaritans is a listening service and are there to provide non-judgemental support for whatever you are going through. No problem is too small so if you find yourself with nobody to talk to, take that step and reach out.

Domestic Abuse Support
