Following the migration of all users from K Drive to OneDrive, the way you access and save EndNote files has changed.
EndNote is not compatible with OneDrive and EndNote files that are saved in OneDrive are at risk of corruption and data loss.
Due to its ease of use, the University is encouraging the use of RefWorks. Taught students are strongly recommended to use this option, and staff and research students may also find RefWorks to be an appropriate choice. Mendeley is also available to use both on and off campus (free version only) and may be a more suitable alternative for researchers and research-active staff. Please contact the library at library@hud.ac.uk for advice or assistance with Mendeley. Other referencing software is available; please contact library@hud.ac.uk for further information.
To continue to use EndNote, you will need to save your EndNote library files to your computer hard drive (on University devices, this will be labelled as the C: Drive). To save files in this location, go to C: Drive – Users – [Your Username] and then click ‘save’.
This location is not backed up, so you must create an EndNote Online account to automatically backup your library and access it from other devices.
Please see this short guide for instructions on how to set up an EndNote Online account and automatically sync to the cloud.
