U-Connect Diversity Mentoring Scheme – Applications Open!
We are pleased to announce that the U-Connect Cross-Institutional Diversity Mentoring Scheme will be running again for another year and that the application window is now open. We are delighted to be partnering again with the University of Bradford, Leeds Trinity, York St John, and Sheffield Hallam Universities.
The scheme aims to improve career development and progression opportunities for those who may have experienced barriers on account of their race, sex, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic, or intersectional disadvantage.
U-Connect aims to boost the confidence and prospects of those taking part, by opening up networking opportunities, providing a different perspective and supporting HE colleagues to achieve their potential through external mentoring.
Last year the Scheme supported 30 staff across the five partner Universities with successful mentoring relationships.
Due to the popularity of the scheme with mentee applications last year, we’d particularly encourage any potential mentors to sign up to the scheme to allow us to more accurately match mentee/mentor pairings.

The deadline for applications is 31st July 2023. The mentoring relationships will commence from September/October 2023 and will run until August 2024 at the latest.
