Welcome Festival 2023

The Students’ Union wants to make sure all students have the opportunity to make friends, build networks and feel supported from the beginning of the academic year. As a University community let’s come together to provide time and experiences for our students to feel welcome.

Plans are well underway for this year’s Welcome Festival aimed at giving all our students a great big welcome to campus! The full programme will be launched on 1st August.

The week will be packed with all our usual events; Welcome Fair, HudCrawl, Campus Tea Party and HudLive as well as plans for new events such as a Student Night at Sheffield IKEA, Feel Good Friday and family friendly day trips to Whitby and Sundown Adventureland!

The Welcome Fair is students’ first opportunity to find out more about all our sports clubs and societies, which are a great way for students to connect with others and make friends. We’d encourage staff to give students the chance to visit the fair!

The fair, this year, will be one day only – Monday 18th September, 10am-5pm and will take place in the Sports Hall.

University departments and teams are encouraged to book stalls at the Welcome Fair and this can be done by completing this form: https://forms.office.com/e/3Tb8yXrtey

Please do promote and encourage students to get involved to give them the best welcome to the University as possible.
