During the week of 4-8 December the International Office Recruitment Team hosted the Global Executive Week. Aimed at executive level staff from our partner agencies and the University, the week also marked the 15 year anniversary of our partnership with Study Group through International Study Centre, as well as reaffirming our commitment to international student recruitment.
This is the first event hosted by the University post-pandemic, for our partner agencies. The Global Executive week saw a group of 12 executive level staff from our key partners around the world, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria, South Africa, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Japan, as well as partner agencies with a global remit.
During the week, our staff from across university departments have had the opportunity to engage with agents at a strategic level, working on innovative market relevant projects for student recruitment and discussed ways to ensure the University is showcased in a meaningful, productive way.
Student recruitment agencies are the university’s main external channel in attracting international students. Enhancing our cooperation with key partners is paramount to the continuous development of our institution and overcoming international challenges faced by the higher education sector in the UK.
Moving forward, we hope the Global Executive Week will be a repeat event, where we are able to work with our key partner agencies in devising a sustainable strategy for student recruitment across regions. We hope we can build constructive dialogue to ensure Huddersfield becomes a top destination of study for international students.
Our biggest thanks to our colleagues across the academic schools and professional services departments in the university who have welcomed our agents and have engaged with us in productive conversations and networking events. We hope these conversations will lead to a greater awareness of the international student recruitment environment, new and innovative projects and collaborations across markets which will showcase the university’s achievements and excellence as a study destination.
