LGBT+ History Month

LGBT+ History Month is an annual month-long observance of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender history, and the history of the gay rights and civil rights movement.

The rainbow flag - the international symbol of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community will be flown outside St Paul’s Hall throughout February to mark LGBT+ History month.

The following programme has been organised by the LGBTQ+ Student Society so you can learn more about LGBT+ history and how you can celebrate and support the LGBT+ community:

LGBT+ Inclusion at the University of Huddersfield

Stonewall

The University is a member of the Stonewall Diversity Champions programme and is currently awaiting the results of our 2021 submission to the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index.  The Workplace Equality Index is an external benchmarking tool for the University to measure its achievements and progress on lesbian, gay, bi and trans inclusion in the workplace.  The University is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone can be themselves and reach their full potential.
