India, Pakistan and Kasmir Cricket Match

In November, University students had a great day taking part in the cricket tournament between India, Pakistan and Kasmir.  A key part of the Global Campus Events programme, the students were able to share their love of the game with their fellow students as well as demonstrate their cricket skills and competitiveness.

Taking place every year since 2012 (until the pandemic interrupted play), the match was played in the sports hall.  It was a joint event between Active-Hud and the International Office.

After their success in 2019, the Pakistan team won and were awarded the cricket shield, which is proudly displayed by the entrance of the Library.

Alan Tobi said: “It was very special to see the demand and energy from the students for this year’s cricket tournament and congratulations to the Pakistani Society and all the students who took part. With having a two-year break, it was clear to see the magic, excitement and enthusiasm had returned among our students.

“The University continues to work hard to further improve the student experience.

“A huge thank you must go to all our wonderful students who participated int the tournament to make it so memorable and enjoyable.”
