Colleagues are asked to please note that the following policies have been introduced/reviewed under the University’s Policy Framework since the last update in February 2021.
Policies added to the Framework:
Review of Policies:
- Credit Control and Debt Management Policy – minor amendments to previous version.
- Policy on the secure storage of DBS certificates – reviewed and no changes to previous version.
- Data Protection Policy - Minor amendments for clarification and to clarify current ownership of the Privacy Impact Assessment process.
- External Complaints procedure – First review under the framework, includes minor changes to the previous version.
- Shared Parental Leave policy – Addition of evidence of eligibility and minor amendments.
- IT Security and Procedure manual – Update on password guidance section, system security section, third-party remote access and inclusion of other digital infrastructure sections.
- IT Security Policy – Addition of user types and cloud-based environment to scope, email auto-forwarding controls and USB storage avoidance. Additional sections on multi-factor authentication (MFA), supplier controls and software, security testing and IT system management update.
- Computing Regulations – Updated and included MFA instructions.
- Open Access Policy – Reviewed and redrafted the policy.
- Audio and video capture policy – Updated accessibility information; use of headings, fonts and hyperlinks.
- Regulations for Post Graduate Research students – Regulations for 2021/22
- Regulations for Taught students – Regulations for 2021/22
- Applicant complaints and appeals policy – Reviewed and updated various sections.
- Environmental and sustainability policy – Reviewed and major redraft.
- Fair trade policy - reviewed and no changes to previous version.
Minor amendments have also been made to the following:
- Expenses and Benefits Policy and Procedure
- Safeguarding Policy
- Disciplinary Rules
- Disciplinary Procedures
- Staff use of social media
- Retention Schedule
- Library Regulations
- Personal Academic Tutoring
Policies removed from the Framework:
Student Protection Plan – This was removed from the policy framework, but remains live as part of information for current students.
