Hub Partner Launches New Software Incorporating Innovative new metrology toolbox

The Future Metrology Hub is delighted to announce that our partners Digital Surf have recently released the latest version of their world-leading software package Mountains® which incorporates several new and innovative features including a freeform surface module developed in collaboration with the team at Huddersfield. The work, led by Professors Dame Jane Jiang and Paul Scott allows freeform surface texture characteristics such as height, hybrid/spatial, and volume parameters to be calculated and visualised adding impressive new functionality to the software.

Based in France, Digital Surf has long-standing relationships with our team, and given that Besançon, their hometown, is twinned with Huddersfield, the relationship feels particularly appropriate! Digital Surf has been developing and supplying surface imaging and metrology software for over 30 years. Their latest version Mountains® 9 was launched in June and incorporates a host of new features and functionality and is available in 11 languages. Digital Surf is currently offering a free 30 day trial of the software and for more information about Mountains® 9 or any other Digital Surf products, visit
