Games Development Courses Gain ScreenSkills Select Accreditation

Three courses in the University of Huddersfield’s School of Computing and Engineering have received accreditation from ScreenSkills Select.

Following a comprehensive review of the curriculum, assessment methods, facilities and resources, Games Development (Art) BA(Hons), Games Development (Design) BA(Hons) and Games Development (Production) BSc(Hons) are now accredited, in recognition of their industry standard course content.

ScreenSkills Select endorses and enhances screen courses that develop industry-ready students, with academic staff including Matthew Novak, Dr Duke Gledhill and Dr Daryl Marples demonstrating their commitment to providing students with the best possible education, preparing them for careers in the games industry. This was then reviewed by an industry panel, which assessed that each course met professional standards.

This recognition follows Huddersfield’s big win at the 2022 Game Republic Showcase, where students from Huddersfield brought home nine out of 15 awards, including Best Team, Best Game Design and Best Game Art and Animation.
