Simran Kaur studied Marketing at Huddersfield Business School and graduated with a First Class Honours Degree after four very enjoyable years as one of our Undergraduates.
Throughout her time at HBS, Simran immersed herself in University life and enjoyed various roles including Student Ambassador and Socia Media Representative. Simran's academic achievement have been just as prolific , Simran won the 'Best Performing Student' in Year 2 of her studies, and in her Final year as well as achieving a First Class Degree, she also achieved the 'Frank Withey Memorial Prize for the highest grade achieved in the core strategic marketing module. Simran's industrial placement year at Disney was also a childhood dream come true!
Simran talks about her life at University and the positive impact it has had;
"I've always had an eye for all things that involved creativity, ideation and innovation however, I don't particularly have any artistic talents as such. What I do have is a knack for reading and keeping up with what's happening in marketing. This course seemed like the perfect combination of everything I enjoyed, whilst giving me the opportunities to work on my weaknesses. It was a good balance of theory and practical work so I got to scrutinise and create ads, work on marketing campaigns and strategies and bring it all to life."
"The best part of the course was critically challenging myself with every assignment. To learn to question everything (without feeling stupid!) and look at multiple perspectives and meanings, which is a crucial skill in any job. And It's a surreal feeling when you leave university and see that industry life is not so different from what you do at uni after all. I got a taste of this in my placement year (which I would recommend everyone to take!)"
