University to host Women in Sustainability event on 5 May

The University of Huddersfield’s Sustainability Team will host its first ‘Women in Sustainability’ on Wednesday 5 May

The event will feature an exciting, all female panel to discuss the vital role of women working in sustainability from 12:15 to 13:45.

Outlined as one of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, Gender Equality and female empowerment is internationally recognised as being at the core of sustainability. Recent research has highlighted the critical role that women in leadership have had in responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the importance of the attributes that women in leadership positions bring to the table.

In spite of this, according to the Women’s Equality Party women make up only 29 per cent of MPs, 25 per cent of judges and 24 per cent FTSE directors.

Please join us to hear from our panelists as they showcase the paths they have taken to get to their current roles in sustainability, including the challenges they have overcome and their achievements.
