On this International Women’s Day 2019 and following the success of the other staff networks (LGBTQI+, BAME and Disability), colleagues are invited to get involved in establishing a Women’s Staff Network at the University.
This network is being developed to help inspire, support and enable women to reach their full potential by providing a forum for discussion and debate. It would also provide a unified voice to help raise the issues that women face in their careers.
The initial meeting will offer the opportunity to discuss the network’s purposes and function, and to identify key roles.
Please email Olivia Briddon if you wish to be involved with the network or for further information. Membership is open to any staff who identify and/or present as female.

We will be by lighting up the Oastler and surrounding buildings purple today to mark International Women’s Day. The colour purple highlights feminism and international efforts to achieve wide-scale gender parity. It symbolises achievements gained and achievements yet to come.
