The University of Huddersfield works in partnership with Health Shield, who offer Healthcare Cash Plans.  This is not private medical insurance (so membership is really affordable, there is no excess charge, and you don’t have to be ill to claim).  It works by you sending Health Shield the receipts for your everyday healthcare, either private or NHS, such as dental check ups & treatment; eye tests, glasses & contact lenses; physiotherapy & chiropractic treatment; massages, and much more, and they refund 100% of the costs straight to your bank account (up to annual limits, depending on level of cover).  It is possible to claim back significantly more than you pay for membership, saving you money.

Benefits include:

• Full membership at your chosen level for all dependent children under 21 at no extra cost…Each child gets their own full claim allowance- they do not share yours
