Survivor Talk – Trude Silman

Trude Silman was born into a Jewish family in Czechoslovakia in 1929. For Holocaust Memorial Day, Trude is visiting the Holocaust Exhibition and Learning Centre to give a talk about her family's experience of Nazi persecution in the 1930s and her escape, at the age of nine, to safety in the UK.

Trude's talk covers her experience as a child refugee in Britain and her lifelong search to learn about her parents' ultimate fate.

The talk begins at 2.00pm and lasts approximately one hour, with time for questions. Trude's story features in the Holocaust Exhibition and Learning Centre which will be open to visitors from 12.00noon-4.00pm. The talk is suitable for all age groups but the exhibition contains images of concentration camps and is not suitable for children under 12. Visitors under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. The exhibition includes a film which contains flashing images.

The talk is priced at £6 (£4 concessions). All income is used to support the Holocaust Survivors' Friendship Association, a registered charity. Visits to the exhibition are free.
