Event details

The Compassionate Leadership Hub at the University of Huddersfield is running an online workshop, as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science. This session will be delivered by Dr Nic Stenberg from the University of Huddersfield in partnership with Helen Curtis from Vintis.

With the cost of living continuing to put pressure on households, many employees are bringing money worries into work and how organisations respond can make a difference.

This interactive workshop brings together current research with a compassionate-leadership approach to explore what organisations can do to prevent, notice and respond to financial hardship at work.

Together we’ll:

  • Look at what recent research tells us about financial hardship at work - how common it is and what contributes to it;
  • Explore how a compassionate-leadership approach can help organisations respond; and
  • Share practical ideas about what organisations can do differently.

We’re also developing resources on compassionate organisational responses to financial hardship as part of an ESRC-funded project. The workshop is an opportunity to contribute your own perspectives. Everyone attending will receive an early resource emerging from the project.

Who it’s for: Leaders, managers and HR or workforce wellbeing colleagues in any sector, including SMEs, schools and colleges, the NHS, charities, voluntary organisations and public services. No prior knowledge is needed.
