Not necessarily. While some courses welcome applicants with a computing background, our Data Science and Applied AI and Information Systems Management courses are conversion courses, meaning that you do not need a Computing degree or background to join the course.

Absolutely. These courses are well suited to career‑changers looking to move into the computing and digital sector. Teaching is designed to help you build core foundations while progressing towards advanced, applied skills relevant to industry roles. On the Data Science and Applied AI MSc, you will be taught programming from beginner level upwards.

Yes. The courses are all 100% online, designed with flexibility in mind, allowing you to study part‑time and balance learning alongside full‑time work and other commitments.

Yes. Distance Learning students can access the same student support services that are available on campus: regular assignment feedback from tutors, academic skills support, access to a personal academic tutor, computing and library services, wellbeing and disability services, and careers and employability support. 

All of our Computing MSc courses are available both 100% online and on-campus. PgCert and PgDip options are available for all courses online only.
