How to apply for a Distance Learning taught course

Applying for a Distance Learning course at Huddersfield is simple. There are no administrative or application fees and you can complete your application at your own pace. Simply create an account on our portal, where you can start, save and return to your application at any time. Key dates

We recommend you apply as soon as possible to secure your place on your chosen course and to give yourself time to decide how you’ll fund your studies.

Here are the key dates you’ll need for most Distance Learning taught courses, which start in January, May and September unless stated otherwise.

For some Health Professional courses, you may need more time to submit your application ahead of the course start date. Please refer to the course page of the course you want to apply for to check.

*Please note: late applications will be considered up to one week of the published deadline. However, this may result in missing the start of your course

For courses that require a DBS check, no extension to the application deadline is available.  

Application decisions are usually made within three weeks of submission; however, this can vary depending on the time of the year. Look out for an email from the University of Huddersfield for updates on your application status. 

You’ll receive an offer by email from the University of Huddersfield (subject to meeting entry requirements) which you must accept by responding to the email.

You’ll receive an email from us when our enrolment portal opens outlining the key steps to follow, including making your first payment. 

Once your enrolment is complete, you’ll attend your induction and can begin your studies. 

Your start date and deferring entry

You are expected to enrol within three weeks of the start date of your course. If you are unable to enrol by this deadline, or simply wish to begin your studies at the next intake, it may be possible to defer your place.
