Acting Director of Estates and Facilities

As Acting Director of Estates & Facilities, Paul is responsible for the strategic planning, development and operation of the University’s estate. He ensures Huddersfield’s campus provides safe, efficient and sustainable environments that support world-class teaching, research and student experience.

Paul leads the delivery of the University’s Estates Strategy and Masterplan, working collaboratively across the institution to ensure the estate aligns with ambitions for growth, net zero carbon and long-term resilience.

A Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), Paul holds an MSc in Strategic Project Management and a BSc in Project Management.

With over 25 years’ experience in estates, facilities, construction and regeneration, including two decades in higher education, he has led major campus transformation programmes and the delivery of both hard and soft facilities services.

Before becoming Acting Director at Huddersfield, Paul held senior estates leadership roles at the University of Huddersfield, the University of Hull and Leeds Beckett University, where he delivered large-scale capital investments, modernisation programmes and carbon-reduction initiatives.

He also serves as a Governor at Shipley College, providing strategic oversight of capital development and maintenance within a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
